Come Holy Spirit, set my heart on fire with Your divine love. Renew my spirit and fill me with Your holy power. Burn away my selfish and sinful habits. Bless me with Your gifts and then empower me to use those gifts for Your glory.
Bless me with the gift of wisdom so I recognize how crucial it is to keep You at the center of my life. Bless me with understanding that I might truly understand Your Gospel truth. Bless me with the gift of counsel that I might follow Your holy will in all things and encourage others to follow Your voice, as well. Bless me with fortitude to strengthen me in my efforts to do Your good works. Give me the courage to fight the good fight for Christ. Bless me with knowledge so I desire to think and learn about the truths made manifest in Your creation. Bless me with piety so I remain faithful to You always. Help me to practice my faith with fullness of heart. Bless me with fear of You Lord, not human fear, but the godly fear of wonder and awe at Your marvelous works. (CCC 1831)
Come Holy Spirit, help me to utilize these holy gifts to bear fruit, fruit that will last (John 15:16). Help me bear Your fruits of “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” into the world (Galatians 5:22). Help me to always strive to grow in virtue. May my life be a joyful, fruitful expression of faith, hope, and charity. Fill me with the desire for goodness, modesty, and chastity (CCC 1832).
“If you take away their breath, they perish
and return to their dust. When you send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.” Psalm 104: 29-30
When my life feels dry and lifeless, breathe your Spirit into me, recreate and renew me (Psalm 104: 29-30). Fill me with zeal for the mission you have given me. Empower me and send me into the world to be an ambassador for Christ. Bless me with the consolation of a deep feeling of being Your beloved child, infinitely loved and cherished. Help me to constantly pour that love back out to You and others. When others encounter me, may they instead encounter You and your never-ending love. Amen.
