Sunday Mass Reflection

Fiat

Fourth Sunday of Advent

Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.– Mary, The Annunciation, Luke 1:38

Yes, Lord, may it be done to me according to Your Word (Luke 1:38).

Yes, Lord, I will follow You no matter where You lead me. Shepherd me and I will be Your beloved sheep (Psalm 23:1)

Yes, Lord, I accept all the successes You will bring me. Help me rejoice in my achievements and triumphs, but also let me always cast my crowns before Your throne (Revelation 4:10), pointing others to Your glory, not my own.

Yes, Lord, I accept all the challenges that come my way as I follow You. All the setbacks, illnesses, struggles, and failures. I accept them and offer them back to You. Help me to always rise again from my stumblings with You at my side (Proverbs 24:16).

Yes, Lord, I will love You above all things. I will set aside my own wishes and desires and seek to do Your will. I believe that You have plans for me that are so much better than anything I have planned for myself (Jeremiah 29:11).

Yes, Lord, I will love others as You love me (John 13:34). I will pour myself out to them as You pour Yourself out to me (Romans 5:5). I will seek to make my life a gift to others as my “Yes” to you.

Yes, Lord, I will be Your beloved child. I will be as obedient as I can. I will come to You when I sin and believe that You will forgive and restore me. I will trust in You with all my heart (Proverbs 3:5).

Yes, Lord, in my rising each day.

Yes, Lord, in my prayer and worship of You.

Yes, Lord, in my family responsibilities.

Yes, Lord, in my daily work.

Yes, Lord, in my service to You and others.

Yes, Lord, in my resting each evening in peace.

With all my being, Yes, Lord, Thy will be done.
